Rhino Engineering, Inc.'s President, John E. Kornfeld, P.E., CFM, brings to the firm 28 years of civil engineering and water resources engineering experience. Mr. Kornfeld's Bachelor of Science degree is in Hydrology from Colorado State University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Colorado (#33064), Utah (#294068), and Nevada (#15990). He is also an ASFPM Certified Floodplain Manager (Certificate No. US-03-00878. He has been involved in civil engineering design and construction management for 28 years with the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, private civil engineering consulting firms and as a municipal engineer.
Rhino Engineering, Inc., staff members are registered engineers in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Our staff also includes a registered land surveyor.

GOLF COURSE DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT
Rhino Engineering, Inc. has been a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, listed as providing professional engineering services with golf course architects.
DRAINAGE PLANNING, DESIGN, AND FLOODPLAIN MAPPING
Rhino Engineering, Inc. provides services including hydrologic and hydraulic analyses/designs and master drainage planning for existing communities and new planned developments. Floodplain mapping and delineation and developing flood hydrographs, plus the design and preparation of plans and specifications for drainage and hydraulic improvements are major strengths of Rhino Engineering, Inc.
SITE DEVELOPMENT
Rhino Engineering, Inc. personnel are qualified and experienced in site development, from small residential sites to large, planned unit developments and commercial properties. Site development requires a diverse knowledge in engineering design and construction. The engineering construction plans include roadway designs for arterial, collector, and local streets and highways, domestic water plans, sanitary sewer designs, storm sewer designs, drainage facilities such as detention basins, channels, etc., irrigation designs, and erosion control plans. We also have considerable experience in drainage engineering, including master drainage/stormwater plans for the City of Phoenix and Scottsdale, storm drain designs for various cities, and dam feasibility and safety analysis projects.
OTHER PROJECT RELATED WORKWe have considerable experience in roadway design. Past projects include Utah Department of Transportation projects involving street and highway reconstruction projects, bridge replacement projects, and pedestrian and bike enhancement projects. Several of these projects include an I-15 Rest Area reconstruction project, the Vernal Main Street project, two Ashley Creek bridge replacement projects, and two Uintah River bridge replacement projects. We also have considerable experience in drainage engineering, including master drainage/stormwater plans for the City of Phoenix and Scottsdale, storm drain designs for various cities, and dam feasibility and safety analysis projects. |
